Our products consist of 925 sterling silver and 316L surgical steel as of 2019. These metal alloys are known to be durable and are resistant to corrosion by water contact.
Sterling silver products all have a hallmark stamp to certify and proof that the metal alloy is made using 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metal. Most sterling silver are made with 7.5% nickel, however we take precautions to choose nickel and lead free products to ensure that the accessories we sell are hypoallergenic. All our sterling silver products have the 925 hallmark stamp, with the exception of if the products are too small or delicate.
316L surgical steel is composed of chromium and 8-10% nickel, making it unsuitable for people with nickel allergies. Due to its high level of nickel, 316L surgical steel is resistant to corrosion, highly durable and easy to polish. We do not recommend products that is made of surgical steel to customers with nickel allergy and suggest choosing sterling silver instead.
While the material is resistant to rust (contact with water and oxygen causing corrosion), we recommend not wearing our products to the shower, swimming or any other water activities as other chemicals such as chlorine from the pool or from soap can cause the corrosion of the metals instead.
Do clean the product regularly with a soft fabric cloth after use and store in a cool, dry place. For polishing of sterling silver, soak a cloth into a mixture of olive oil and lemon juice until it's damp. Polish and dry your accessory. For more information, do read up here.
For polishing of surgical steel, dip cloth in a mixture of water and soap and gently polish, then dry. For more information, do read up here.
While polishing, please take note of semi-precious gemstones and crystals as chemicals present in the polish can damage those items. We recommend using a damp cloth to wipe over areas with such stones and crystals.
